Upcoming series 3 Body Problem is a sweeping story of Earth’s past, present and future. No stranger to grand storytelling, Game of Thrones creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss serve as showrunners, while Alexander Woo (True Blood) co-created and wrote the series. All three are executive producers.
Based on the novel 3 Body Problem by Chinese author Liu Cixin, Woo describes the story as “a history of humanity from the point of first contact with an alien civilization all the way to the end of the universe.” Sounds like a lot to take in? Maybe the cast and crew can help. A tantalizing clip from Netflix’s annual Tudum fan event reveals glimpses of 3 Body Problem’s globetrotting locations, and sees the actors discussing the series and sharing a few firm promises about the show. “People who have read the books will be stunned to see how it’s been realized in the show,” says star Jess Hong. “It’s going to be, visually, a feast.”
